THE STANLEY HOTEL, PAUPA NEW GUINEA

HOW WE DELIVERED A 1500M2 BALLROOM IN PAUPA NEW GUINEA IN 4 DAYS
The Stanley Hotel required a full replacement of its 1,500m² ballroom floor - a critical revenue-generating event space at the heart of the hotel’s operations. The brief was clear: remove the existing ballroom flooring and install new Brintons Axminster carpet within a four-day shutdown window. However, this was far from a standard hospitality refurbishment.
We said no dream is too big, right?
The challenges this project presented:
-
Mobilise from Australia to Papua New Guinea
-
Transport all required specialist tools and materials
-
Complete demolition and new installation within 4 days
-
Operate without access to local tool suppliers or additional labour
-
Deliver premium workmanship in a live luxury hotel environment
Given the logistical limitations, this project required meticulous pre-planning and our team's approach to these potential hurdles through implementing contingency strategies before mobilisation is what allowed a perfect handover to transpire. Working in a developing nation added another layer of complexity. Limited contingency options meant there was no room for error. Every detail had to be anticipated before departure.
Once onsite, the team completed:
-
Full demolition and uplift of the existing 1500m2 ballroom flooring
-
Complete Subfloor inspection, preparation and rectification
-
Precision installation of 1500m2 of Brintons Axminster carpet
All works were executed within a compressed four-day programme — with no additional labour, no local supply backup, and no margin for delay.
The ballroom was successfully transformed on schedule, restoring one of the hotel’s most important event spaces with a premium Axminster finish worthy of a five-star venue.
More importantly, the project demonstrated our capability to take on complex, high-risk hospitality flooring projects that others decline.
Distance, logistical limitations, compressed timelines and challenging environments do not deter our team. Instead, they drive our preparation, discipline, and execution standards.
This project stands as a testament to our ability to deliver large-scale installations internationally, operate independently in remote environments, perform under extreme time constraints and maintain premium workmanship regardless of location
THE TEA ROOM, QVB

WE MANOUVERD A 24 HOUR TEAM FOR SYDNEY'S MOST ICONIC TEA ROOM
The Tea Room within the Queen Victoria Building required a full flooring replacement across the main dining area and hallways leading to the kitchen and amenities. With a major function scheduled shortly after the expected project install, the client required absolute certainty of our ability to ensure handover.
The constraints were significant:
-
Work within one of Sydney’s most recognised heritage buildings
-
Strict CBD access restrictions
-
Limited material delivery and removal window (4:00am–6:00am only)
-
A confirmed event booking immediately following completion
-
Zero tolerance for delays
To guarantee delivery, we structured the project around a continuous 24-hour operational model.
Over a 3–4 day period, we deployed the following system:
-
Night Shift Crew: Flooring uplift, preparation and final layer installation &
-
Day Shift Crew: Delivery, uptake disposal, underlay installation and staged area readiness
This rotational structure allowed us to maximise productivity within restricted access windows, accelerate turnaround without compromising workmanship and ensure a seamless transition between preparation and installation phases.
Logistics required precision planning. All materials had to be delivered and all existing flooring removed within the narrow early-morning timeframe permitted by building management. There was no flexibility for missed deliveries or extended access. Working inside a heritage-listed building also required heightened care to protect surrounding finishes and architectural features.
The project was completed within programme and the venue was handed over ready for its scheduled event, without disruption.
Beyond the prestige of working inside the Queen Victoria Building, this project demonstrates something more important: We adapt our operations to protect our clients’ schedules.
Whether that means remote international mobilisation or running 24-hour shifts in Sydney’s CBD, we structure our workforce and logistics around guaranteed delivery.
For hospitality venues where downtime equals lost revenue, our commitment is simple, we will do whatever is required to ensure handover certainty.
THE IVY BALLROOM

HOW WE HELPED SET THE STANDARD FOR A COMMUNITY BRAND
The Ivy Ballroom refurbishment was delivered in two critical stages:
-
Stage 1: 1,000m² Ballroom flooring replacement
-
Stage 2: Stairs and mezzanine areas leading to the ballroom
\While the installation itself required precision and speed the most significant challenge was the uplift of the existing flooring - one of the most demanding removals our team has undertaken. Compounding this, works needed to be carefully staged around multiple trades who were operating under their own programme pressures. The site was dynamic, congested, and constantly evolving.
