EDUCATION

Julius Flooring understands that creating conducive learning environments goes beyond traditional classrooms. Flooring plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience, providing comfort, safety, and aesthetic appeal.

We work closely with educational institutions to deliver installations that align with their unique requirements. Whether it's selecting materials with eco-consciousness in mind or incorporating school colors and designs, our installations contribute to a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere.

NEXTSENSE CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE

HOW WE HELPED A MAMMOTH PROJECT SPRING TO LIFE

The NextSense Centre of Excellence on Macquarie University’s campus awarded to ADCO is a $75 million project expected to deliver innovative and dedicated services to people with hearing or vision loss and advanced education in these fields of learning.

As trusted trade partners with ADCO, Julius Flooring was engaged to ensure our innovative, organised, and safe approach to conducting works would be displayed on this project.

Undertaking the mammoth task included the following vast range of materials:

  • Over 4750m² of Milliken’s PVE Free WellBAC cushion backed carpet tiles

  • 1085m² of Gibbon Group’s Tretford Interlife rolls

  • 1145m² of vinyl from Tarkett’s iQ Granit and SafeT range

  • 290m² of Forbo vinyl

  • 180m² of Godfrey Hirst timber look vinyl planks

  • 2x Tapetti Custom designed broadloom rugs (Water Dreaming designed by ‘Mikanji by Angelina Nampijinpa Tasman’)

  • 38.3 tonne of self leveller pumped in using ScreedPro

  • Over 8500m² of grinding in prep for floorcoverings

  • A site sized at roughly 12300m² internally across three levels and two sites

  • 6+ months of installation time on-site

Commencing in June 2023 and still underway until handover in January 2024, this has been a memorable install for the Julius Flooring team.

Our challenges were encountered when in constant battle with other trades to access areas on-site to start and complete areas of flooring on this project. A full scale installation of floor prep across this job to ensure compliant floor standards saw plenty of extra work added to the already overflowing load of work. The intensive detail to floor preparation and installation at NextSense has been astronomical. The finish line is nearing and is exciting for the team.

OUR LADY OF PEACE, GREYSTANES

HOW WE HELPED A CRUCIAL EDUCATION PROJECT

FAL Constructions were entrusted with the Stage 3 works at Our Lady of Peace, Greystanes: A new primary school with innovative and exciting designs by DTA Architects.

A contemporary collection of technology, touch interfaces, custom joinery and furniture, this was a great educational project for the Catholic Education; Diocese of Parramatta.

Our part in this project saw the following items added to the new build at OLOP:

  • 270m² of Tuftmaster’s 100% wool carpet from their ‘Rossmore Heather’ range

  • 80m² of entry matting carpet tiles from Forbo

  • 350m² of concrete grinding in preparation for the installation of floorcoverings

Across two levels, our work on this project saw our team spend three weeks on-site, allowing other trades to access spaces to complete overhead works before installing our flooring.

Ensuring we maintained compliance especially in an educational environment, Julius Flooring installed underlay to guarantee movement across the carpet was not only accessible but manageable for those using mobility devices such as wheelchairs.

HOW WE HELPED WITH A COMPLETE SCHOOL FIT-OUT

Backed by NSW Government funding, ADCO was appointed as the principal contractor to build a new primary school for Liverpool next to the existing Liverpool Boys and Girls High School.

Our team have embarked on several Educational sector projects and were thrilled to be given the opportunity to assist ADCO in providing our trusted installation services.

Explore the project involvement our team undertook that will host students in grades Kindergarten to Year 6 inclusive. Offering modern facilities to foster innovative teaching methods, the school also includes much needed special education support classes:

  • 417 bags of cementitious products

  • 2453m² of grinding in preparation for floorcoverings

  • Installation of approximately 2690m² of Interface Cushionbac carpet tiles

  • 1516m² of Tarkett vinyl across three ranges and in five different colours

Our install covered 44x classrooms, 4x special program units, 4x support units, 2x preschool activity rooms, a library, the main hall, New Out of School Hours Care (OSHC), administration and amenities.

An expansive project that began in September 2023 and handed over in December 2023, our team was excited to be involved in the coming together of this educational pillar that will cater to the growing needs of the Liverpool community.
