WEST TIGERS CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
HOW WE HELPED A $78M FACILITY COME TO LIFE
The ‘fully professional’ facility, inspired by NFL and MLB bases in the US, comes complete with a multi-lane swimming pool, saunas, steam rooms, ice baths, a gym with full wrestling arena, theatres, sleeping rooms, a mental health hub and even an in-house barber.
ADCO engaged us to help with the concrete preparation and remediation activities (one of many projects with the Concord Oval Redevelopment Project).
We said no dream is too big, right?
Here’s a glimpse at what it involved:

Grind and level 3500m² of concrete
-
Deliver a fit-for-purpose concrete slab ready for timber flooring

All within a 10-day timeframe (using only two grinding machines)
We removed 4 tonnes worth of concrete during our grind across the 3500m² floor, before vacuuming and priming the area. We also installed approximately 500 bags of leveling compounds to bring the subfloor within Australian Standards in preparation for the install of the Basketball Court.

ONE PLAYGROUND, NEWTOWN
HOW WE HELPED ONE PLAYGROUND DESIGN THE FUTURE
One Playground possesses bold visions, with the goal to change what people expect from a gym.
As a long-standing client, we’ve worked with them across numerous projects to redefine the member experience through their facilities.
Here’s a glimpse at what we did for their recent Newtown gym revamp:

Finding an exact Pantone colour rubber that does not exist

Supply and installation of a sprung acoustic floor

Hand-cutting a 10m logo into the turf

Installation of acoustic shock pads and green rubber flooring
There was no lift access, meaning we needed to carry all materials up two flights of stairs (imagine 70 x 130 kg rolls).
And the timeframe? Nine days in total to install a 70m² sprung platform system, 600m² rubber and 100m² custom turf.

I have used Julius Flooring on a number of occasions to lay flooring in our gyms. They have done everything from small to large scale turf, rubber and lifting platforms. They are most certainly experts in their field. Always on time and willing. I have dealt with many flooring companies and the team at Julius are by far the most professional and skilled flooring company I have ever used. I should also mention, they are honest people. Whether you're a seasoned elite athlete, a dedicated fitness enthusiast, or embarking on the initial stages of your fitness journey, 98 Gym, along with their vibrant community, stands ready to champion and bolster the fitness aspirations of many.
98 Gym secured their latest location inside the Sydney Swans HQ at the Royal Hall of Industries and Julius Flooring was entrusted, yet again, with the flooring works.
This involved installing 340m² of Regupol’s 8mm Classic Berlin and 50m² of full exposure 200 grit polished concrete. Quite a simple project that was executed without a hitch.
HEFFRON CENTRE, SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS
HOW WE HELPED BRING TOGETHER A COMMUNITY
The South Sydney Rabbitohs were established in 1908 as one of the founding teams of the NRL. In the summer of 2023 they moved into their brand new ADCO Constructions built $58m training facility at the Heffron Centre in Maroubra. The Heffron Centre is a best-in-class facility that will provide the Rabbitohs' teams and community programs the best resources to further build on their success, taking them to a new level.
Julius Flooring was engaged by PLAE to help build the interior and exterior of the mighty red and green teams' new training facility. The perfect combination of PLAE’s Rubber and Turf lay the foundation of the space.

The exterior works saw the installation of a 63.7m long Ignite Sprint track and a whopping 850m2 of Blitz turf.

With a total of 7 PLAE flooring products used in the interior across their rubber and turf ranges and

8 x custom team logo platforms
An overall stellar project for the team to install with the greatest challenge coming from contesting with the extreme weather changes in a small time frame in preparation for the exterior works. The team went from contending with torrential rain to grinding in over 40 degree days to ensure the timely install for handover on this project.
