HOW WE HELPED ONE PLAYGROUND DESIGN THE FUTURE
One Playground possesses bold visions, with the goal to change what people expect from a gym.
As a long-standing client, we’ve worked with them across numerous projects to redefine the member experience through their facilities.
Here’s a glimpse at what we did for their recent Newtown gym revamp:

Finding an exact Pantone colour rubber that does not exist

Supply and installation of a sprung acoustic floor

Hand-cutting a 10m logo into the turf

Installation of acoustic shock pads and green rubber flooring
There was no lift access, meaning we needed to carry all materials up two flights of stairs (imagine 70 x 130 kg rolls).
And the timeframe? Nine days in total to install a 70m² sprung platform system, 600m² rubber and 100m² custom turf.

I have used Julius Flooring on a number of occasions to lay flooring in our gyms. They have done everything from small to large scale turf, rubber and lifting platforms. They are most certainly experts in their field. Always on time and willing. I have dealt with many flooring companies and the team at Julius are by far the most professional and skilled flooring company I have ever used. I should also mention, they are honest people. While pricing is very competitive, speaking from experience, you get what you pay for. If you are after cheap flooring that won’t last the test of time then these are not the team for you. 98 Gym secured their latest location inside the Sydney Swans HQ at the Royal Hall of Industries and Julius Flooring was entrusted, yet again, with the flooring works.
This involved installing 340m² of Regupol’s 8mm Classic Berlin and 50m² of full exposure 200 grit polished concrete. Quite a simple project that was executed without a hitch.

THE FOUNDATION BEHIND SOUTH YARRA’S MOST EXCLUSIVE WELLNESS CLUB
Saint Haven is a private luxury wellness club redefining what modern health, fitness and recovery looks like in Australia. Located in the heart of South Yarra, the club was designed as an immersive sanctuary, blending training, recovery, movement and mindfulness within an elevated architectural environment.
Every element of the space has been curated to deliver a premium member experience, where performance meets calm and design meets function.Julius Flooring was engaged to deliver the flooring installation across the club, working closely with the project team to help bring Saint Haven’s vision of refined, high-performance wellness to life.
A considered selection of premium rubber, performance vinyl and turf products were installed throughout the facility to create seamless transitions between training zones, recovery spaces and communal areas - ensuring durability, acoustic performance and visual cohesion across the club.
The scope of works included multiple training studios, strength and conditioning zones, functional turf areas, circulation spaces and back-of-house areas, each requiring a tailored flooring solution to suit both aesthetic and functional demands.With tight timelines and a high-end finish required across every space, precision and coordination were critical to the success of this project. Our team worked meticulously to ensure each area was delivered to specification and ready for opening.
